What is a Doula

A Doula is a professionally trained labor companion who provides new and expecting parents continuous emotional, physical and informational support to help educate, comfort and encourage them in their birth and parenting journeys before, during and after childbirth.

A Doula stands by the side of a woman and her family as she walks through the doors of motherhood for the first time, or entering a new season as an existing mother. A Doula recognizes birth as a key experience the mother will remember all her life. A Doula understands the physiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor.
